To some people, the question of cancelling Netflix seems ridiculous. To others, you may already be feeling things everytime you pull that menu up and begin scrolling.
You may feel a check in your spirit. You may even feel like what you are about to watch is something that is not even compatible with the label of "Christian" or living a life similar to His.
Let me ask another way...Is Jesus/Yeshua your Lord and Savior? Do you appreciate the Blood that He shed for you for the remission of sins?
Would He sit down with you and watch what you are watching?
If you cannot honestly answer all of those questions with a quick and true YES, then something is wrong.
Did you know that there is a spirit of the world? Do you know that there is a spirit of entertainment? Do you know that our adversary is roaming around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour?
How many hours are you devoting to Netflix?
How many hours are you devoting to the pursuit of God and godly and moral character and being holy because He is Holy and this is what He demands from us?
He said BE HOLY, AS I AM HOLY. He wouldn't say this is it was completely unattainable.
When my spouse and I began our journey to earnestly seek the Lord and His perfect will for our lives...one of the first things that God highlighted to us as something that we needed to cut out of our lives was Netflix.
How He showed us was one night, we were scrolling through and saw some terrible images. Before we went to sleep, we realized that a spirit of fear was in the house because we had opened the door by allowing those images to be displayed.
Another time, there were scantily clad women and we had to once again rebuke spirits of lust and perversion before we went to sleep because these images were displayed on the screen.
If you are struggling with trying to be set free from the spirit of pornography and the spirits of lust and perversion that accompany it to keep you bound, let let me suggest from personal experience...Netflix is just not worth all the demons that get released into your home simply from scrolling!
If you are trying to live a life worthy of the Lord, then let me tell you...this is definitely not helping you in your walk with the Lord.
I have a folder on my laptop called "deceived Christians" and I list true comments and questions from "Christians" that I see online usually on Facebook.
One of these such comments was a "Christian" woman asking if watching things like the show "Lucifer" could bring evil into your home because, as she put it...every time she watches (and btw...she only watches because she thinks it's wildly hilarious) bad things begin to happen in her house.
She wanted to know if there was a correlation. Clearly she saw it. Clearly she noticed every time she watched that evil things would manifest in her house.
Yet she still asked if it was true. This is a sad state to be in. If you want to know if you should cancel...let's look at it this way.
Does a movie with a gay Jesus that they premiered on Netflix agree with the Bible's version of Yeshua/Jesus? Isn't that blasphemy? Would God want us to be giving our hard earned money that He helped us to earn by providing a body to do the work and a employer to give us this job to go towards and obviously antichrist agenda?
We are to be good stewards over all income that we receive and we are to carefully look at where our money is going.
If our money is going towards Netflix or porn...this is not lining up with what God asks us for in His Word.
Your flesh might scream, it might cry...it might almost physically hurt...but I suggest YES a thousand times YES, if you want to be free from pornography and lust and perversion spirits...then Netflix is OUT!
We cancelled it when the Lord opened our eyes and you would be surprised how much closer you get to the Lord and how your relationship with others like your spouse will grow as you replace the time with the wicked device of satan and instead spend time in the Word or with your family.
